History 2007

Mississauga    May 10, 2008

Attending Mississauga this year were:

Full Marathon - Jane C and Susan M - Jane's has this to say:

Well it wasn’t a PB, that’s for sure but it  was a pretty course and I enjoyed it. Talked to some interesting runners and put in the distance. No matter how long it takes you, there is always an amazing feeling of accomplishment at the end of a marathon. It is one of those incredible moments in your life. It is a yahoo, yippee, hurray moment.  Susan ran had a great race as well!

Half Marathon

WOW, they rocked!!!!

Steve L - PB,  Patty L - PB, Rob G - PB, Mary H - PB,  Angela H - PB, Yvonne R Finished strong within 1 minute of a PB, Cliff D also a very respectable time and very special congratulations to Annette G for running her very first Half Marathon.  Way to go team!!

Some comments from the team are "OMG the traffic"    "Next time we take a Bus"

From Steve L.

Pre Race

Well here we are stuck in traffic, it is 6:50a.m. and race starts at 7:30 it looks like a million cars before we park.   Okay we got there next time we take a bus! Great weather 13c and slight breeze. 8-10 min to get from gun to start.

Post:1:55 on the Garmin. Ran a technical race. Strong and solid start to finish.. Tons of room on the course. Water every 2K! Loved it! Froze afterwards. Walk to shuttle FAR! Shuttle sucked! Next time we take a bus. Did I say that already? NEXT TIME WE TAKE A BUS!

March 16, 2008 - The Achilles St Patrick's Day Race

The next adventure in running was an exciting 5 KM race in downtown Toronto.  The Achilles Club supports disabled athletes.  It was inspiring to was blind runners with the guides hoofing it down the road.   Of course being St Patrick's day the usual running gear was replaced with outfits just a bit more festive!

Hamilton Around the Bay - The Oldest Race in North America!

Since this is the oldest race, we thought we'd do the history in a new way!  The Maniac's took a bus again, it sure is a nice way to go to and from a race.  We thought it would be fun to have everyone write our history, since of course were all part of it!  We all recorded our thoughts on the way there and on the way home again.
